Art, Access, and Opportunity: A Scholar Day at the Getty
On June 27, 2025, the Marymount Education Foundation had the pleasure of hosting a special scholar outing to the Getty Center—one of the most iconic and influential museums in the United States.
Scholars from La Sierra University, St. Mary’s College, Mount Saint Mary’s University, and Cal Lutheran joined us for a day that was both culturally enriching and deeply connective. More than just a museum visit, this experience was designed to inspire curiosity, build community, and offer an insider’s look into the world of art and history.
The day was thoughtfully organized and led by our Assistant Program Director Payton Sprouse and our executive Director Robyn Jones, whose vision and dedication made this event possible. Both were present to welcome our scholars, engage in conversations, and take part in a day rooted in learning and connection.
Our foundation was also honored to welcome Brittany Jones, an accomplished art historian and Ph.D. candidate, who led our scholars through a private tour of the Getty’s collection. Her thoughtful insights and deep knowledge brought the artwork to life, creating space for meaningful discussion and discovery.
From lunch in the courtyard to learning side by side with peers from across California, the day reflected our mission in action: to support our scholars through opportunity, access, and community. We’re proud to walk alongside these remarkable scholars as they continue to grow in their academic and personal journeys.
